There will be breakfast and lunch available.

Hi SSS members,

 

                As a follow-up from my e-mail a week ago regarding Ken Douglas being in hospital, I'm sad to say that he passed away today.  As well as being a master model boat builder, Ken was one of our club's two founding members so we all owe him a great deal for establishing (with Jim Russell) the wonderful group we all continue to enjoy.  Ken's family will pass along funeral details in a few days, which I will similarly e-mail as I'm sure many of you will want to attend.

Subject: Roma St "Parks Alive" event update

 

Hi All,

 

    For those who are planning to sail on the Roma St Parklands lake on Sunday August 23rd, the “Parks Alive” event coordinator has now passed on more information:

  • Entry from 8:30am, with all cars being out of the lake area by 9:30am at the latest.
  • A section of the nearby public car park will be roped off for us.  This is just a short walk away under the bridge; parklands staff will be on-site to direct us.
  • No cars can re-enter the lake area prior to 4pm.  If you need to leave earlier, the Parklands has a buggy with trailer they can use to transport your boats back to the nearby car park.
  • For those who have not yet RSVP’d, please let me know if you’re coming not later than Friday August 7th as I need to tell events coordinator how many car parks to reserve for us.
