Our Library

The SCMBC has available for use by members an extensive library of Model Boat books and magazines and various model boat plans. The magazines, although some dating back to the 1970’s, have many interesting articles on boat construction, radio control, tips and electronic projects which make for interesting reading to all enthusiasts. Plans cover Patrol Boats, Racing Yachts and even the Royal Ship “Britannia”.

These publications and plans have been kindly donated by members both past and present and provide valuable information to all boat modellers especially those keen to take up the hobby. All books and plans are listed in a catalogue which is held by the Librarian and are available for perusal at any time. Magazines, books or plans are available for loan to members only for a limited time at the discretion of the Librarian.

Although the library contains much information, the SCMBC is always on the lookout for further publications or plans that would further enhance our extensive library and because of this, any person who has any information, plan or book of any kind they wish to donate to our library can contact any Committee member to pass anything on.
